break in time for a pair of xpe12s

Is there a recommended procedure for breaking in these subs? i have 1000wrms going to them and the gain is turned way down now and its driving me nuts... i want my bass.

dude u can turn em up about 3/4 at least. these subs are really tough and sound amazing in s slotted box. ive had mine for 3 yrs and am very happy with them. and what amp r u running?

Pioneer premier spl 1200 mono, but its at 1000 @ 2 ohms. I am having a hard time getting used to the level of bass. It hurts my hears and vibrates my sinuses and it makes me sneeze lots lol.
