How to get the most out of my exile subs?

Postby Cooper999 on Sat Dec 26, 2009 6:10 pm

I just purchased 2 12" exile subs today, I believe their sx12D (dual voice coil).
I also grabbed a Hertz Ep 1d Monoblock amp.

I have hooked up my previous svc system and Am a little confused whats the best way to wire it to not sacrafice power with wiring the dvc's incorrectly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! :D

normally you want to match your speaker impedance to your amps rated output impedance. so if you amp is stable at two ohms, wire your subs down in parallel to two ohms. At least thats the quick and the dirty.
Back to reality and what you're about . . .

According to the Hertz website, that amp makes 1000 watts at 1 ohm so you do need to wire them all in parallel. If you wire them in a series/parallel combo, you will end up at 4 ohms and then the amp only makes 400 watts.
